Softball Recap: Elkins Comes Up Short

Elkins was the 12-8 winner over Fairmont Senior when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell 21-16 to the Polar Bears on Tuesday.

Elkins' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Fairmont Senior, they moved to 5-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Elkins will challenge rival Buckhannon-Upshur at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fairmont Senior is set to square off against their familiar foe Robert C. Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
