Softball Recap: Pomona Panthers vs. Dakota Ridge Eagles

There's no place like home for Pomona, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Dakota Ridge Eagles on Monday as the Pomona Panthers made off with a 17-7 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in September.

Pomona got a massive performance out of Lia Martinez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Grace Kerr, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Pomona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dakota Ridge only posted a batting average of .269.

The victory got Pomona back to even at 9-9. As for Dakota Ridge, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Pomona didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-2 win against Standley Lake on the 2nd. Dakota Ridge has also already played their next contest, a 17-0 defeat against D'Evelyn on the 2nd.
