Baseball Recap: Forest Comes Up Short

Forest lost against Trinity Catholic back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Forest fell just short of Trinity Catholic by a score of 7-6.

Dillon Grace was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Forest is 5-1 when Grace posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ryan Vargas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Trinity Catholic, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forest will challenge Vanguard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Vanguard will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Forest surely won't give up without a fight. As for Trinity Catholic, they will face off against South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
