Basketball Recap: New Bern Comes Up Short

New Bern came up into this matchup off a tough 26-point defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Havelock Rams by a score of 34-31 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Rams: they've now lost four in a row.

Kaitlynn Howell was nothing short of spectacular for Havelock: she posted 16 points and three steals. Howell continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Timayah Brown, who had nine points and three steals.

New Bern's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Havelock, their victory bumped their record up to 6-14.

As of now, neither New Bern nor Havelock have any future games scheduled.
