Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Panthers vs. Okeechobee Brahmans

The Heritage Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Okeechobee Brahmans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Heritage turned things around against Legacy on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions a 9-0 shutout. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kethziel Torres made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since March 2nd.

In other batting news, Heritage let Jose Velez and Zander Tarnowski run wild. Velez got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs, while Tarnowski went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Velez has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Rian Paull, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Okeechobee posted their closest win since April 15, 2025 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Suncoast 1-0.

Heritage's record now sits at 3-16. As for Okeechobee, their record is now 12-5.
