Basketball Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Patriots vs. Dalton Bulldogs

The Cornerstone Christian Patriots will take on the Dalton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Cornerstone Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.

Last Monday, Cornerstone Christian ended up a good deal behind Mentor and lost 84-66. The Patriots were down 71-46 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite their loss, Cornerstone Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Quinn Kwasniak, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards, was perhaps the best of all. Kwasniak's afternoon made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Hudson Funk was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Meanwhile, it may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Dalton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They escaped with a win against Chippewa by the margin of a single free throw, 68-67.

Dalton is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Cornerstone Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Cornerstone Christian lost to Dalton on the road by a decisive 76-61 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Cornerstone Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
