See who's tops in the nation.

It's automatic every Monday during the football season. High school football fans from all corners of the state login to their computers hoping the school they are loyal to moved up in the rankings, took over the top spot, or made the climb into the rankings.

But, what about the national rankings? Oh what a coupe that would be, to find your alma mater alongside traditional powers IMG Academy, Mater Dei or American Heritage. Heck, landing a Top 100 ranking would be pretty cool, too.

Well, this week we did that work for you. Scouring through the MaxPreps National Computer Rankings, we unearthed the current MaxPreps national ranking for each member of Nebraska's Top 10 11 and 6/8-Man football teams.

While only 8-Man No. 1 Creighton represents the Cornhusker State nationally in the Top 25, at No. 16, all of Nebraska's Top 10 6/8-Man football teams made the Top 100 out of the 1,590 football programs that reside in our 6/8/9-Man football database. Top-ranked and defending Class B champion Elkhorn South dropped 11 spots to 81st nationally in the 11-Man rankings following a 62-0 blasting of Elkhorn Mount Michael last weekend to lead the way for the big schools.

Second to the Storm in Nebraska is Class C1 power Norfolk Catholic and the Knights are representing well after knocking off Wayne 35-0 to claim the No. 343 spot out of the 14,548 schools listed in our 11-Man rankings. Gretna, a challenger to swipe the Class B title from the Storm, rounds out Nebraska's Top 3 at No. 399th nationally.

Wahoo took advantage of its 34-13 defeat of Class C1 power David City Aquinas to leap 490 spots to 1,042nd. The Warriors were the recipients of Nebraska's largest leap in the national poll this week for the members of this Top 10.

Creighton is Nebraska's top dog in the 6/8-Man ranks and the Bulldogs held onto its Top 20 spot this week following a 60-16 win over Plainview. Atkinson West Holt edged a very good Clearwater/Orchard squad 35-20 to climb 14 spots to 32nd, while Mullen rose 11 places to 33rd nationally after outscoring Paxton 36-8 last weekend.

Ponca, Nebraska's top-ranked Class C2 football team sits at No. 12 in this week's Nebraska state poll. The Indians (8-0) dropped 12 places to 1,229th nationally following a 38-10 win over Lutheran High Northeast last weekend. Top-ranked 6-Man club Harvard is ranked 25th in Nebraska's Class 6/8-Man poll. The Cardinals moved up eight spots this week to 128th nationally following its 68-0 shutout of Red Cloud.

As you browse through this week's Top 10, listed on the top line is the school, its won-loss record in parenthesis, the school's point differential this fall and its MaxPreps power ranking.
