Basketball Recap: Blanco Takes a Loss

Blanco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Navarro Panthers, falling 54-18. While losing is never fun, Blanco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1324th, while Navarro is ranked 358th).

Blanco's loss came despite strong showings from Ashton Uballe and Ava Silva. Uballe posted eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Silva had six points. What's more, Silva also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January.

It was another big night for Tegan Harborth, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 19 points and five assists for Navarro. That makes it three consecutive games in which Harborth has scored at least a third of Navarro's points. Kalista Scott was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points.

Blanco's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Navarro, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Blanco wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-16 loss against Jones on the 14th. As for Navarro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-22 win against Goliad on the 14th.
