Softball Recap: Chazy Find Success

Chazy won the last time they faced Johnsburg Central and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Jaguars 7-6.

Kennedy Columbus was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Courtney Collins was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Wynter Jarus was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Chazy's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Johnsburg Central, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Chazy will head out on the road to challenge Beekmantown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Johnsburg Central, they will challenge Crown Point at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
