Basketball Game Preview: Burke County Bears vs. Screven County Gamecocks

Burke County has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Screven County has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. Both will face off at 4:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Burke County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.

Burke County will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Butler, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Burke County made off with a 70-69 victory over Butler.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Screven County's strategy against Metter on Friday. Screven County enjoyed a cozy 73-55 win over Metter.

Burke County better keep an eye on LeVez Roper. He was instrumental in Screven County's win, going 8 of 13 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Rodney Beckworth was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards.

Screven County has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Burke County, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
