The Indio Rajahs will take on the Miller Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Indio sitting on four straight wins and Miller on five.
On Thursday, Indio beat Yucca Valley 7-4.
Luciano Zaragoza made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ricky Cordova, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Noah Hernandez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Miller got the win against San Bernardino on Friday by a conclusive 13-1. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Zachary Terry spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jayden Mendez was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Elian Salas, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Miller's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Indio, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
Indio skirted past Miller 8-7 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Do the Rajahs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
