Basketball Recap: Old Mill Comes Up Short

Old Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 46-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Meade Mustangs. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 43-30 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Old Mill lost, don't look at Jemirah Brown. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 50% of Old Mill's points, marking the third time in a row Brown has posted more than a third of the team's points. Jaida Fernandez was another key player, putting up four points.

Old Mill now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Meade, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, Old Mill will take on North County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Old Mill is facing North County at the right time seeing as North County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Meade has already played their next contest (against South River), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
