On Friday, Petoskey faced Cadillac in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Petoskey Northmen fell to the Cadillac Vikings 55-51. The Northmen's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Having lost for the first time this season, Petoskey fell to 5-1. As for Cadillac, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Petoskey will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Holland Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Holland Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Petoskey likes a good challenge. As for Cadillac, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Coopersville at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
