Baseball Recap: First Coast Starts Season with Victory Against Riverside

First Coast gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against the Riverside Generals as the First Coast Buccaneers made off with a 15-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Generals: they've now won nine in a row.

Ryan Barnes looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rob Chatman, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Zach Sandell was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Coincidentally, First Coast and Riverside will both be playing Stanton the next time they take the field. First Coast will host Stanton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Riverside will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on February 18th.
