Softball Recap: Wyomissing Find Success

Wyomissing won against Pottsgrove last Wednesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Wyomissing came out on top in a nail-biter against the Susquehannock Warriors, sneaking past 7-5. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

Kylie Schoedler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taylor Watts, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Lytle, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Wyomissing's record is now 2-0. As for Susquehannock, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wyomissing will head out to take on Schuylkill Haven at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Susquehannock, they will face off against West York Area at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Susquehannock is facing West York Area at the right time seeing as West York Area is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
