Volleyball Recap: Garner Takes a Loss

Garner was the 3-0 winner over Bryson when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Longhorns fell just short of the Cowboys by a score of 3-2 on Friday.

Makayla Gonzalez paced Garner's offense, picking up 24 kills. Gonzalez got some help from Kaylin Long and her 28 assists. Jenna Hallmark controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Garner dropped their record down to 9-14 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Bryson, with the win, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 14-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Garner is set to square off against their familiar foe Perrin-Whitt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bryson will take on rival Newcastle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
