Softball Recap: Doyle Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Doyle can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Thibodaux 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Doyle has posted since February 24th.

Emily Edler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Reese Patin was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Genie Lovett, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Doyle's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Thibodaux, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Doyle will head out to take on Oakdale at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Thibodaux, they will head out on the road to face off against Brusly at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
