New Canaan had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed by the Maloney Spartans to the tune of 41-7 on Tuesday. Considering the Rams have won eight contests by more than 28 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Robinson was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a rushing score. Hudson Kenny helped Robinson out on the ground, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown.

New Canaan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Connor Mazza and Blake Schwartz. Mazza also set a new season high mark in total tackles with nine.

The victory (which was New Canaan's eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. A key ingredient in that success has been their rushing production: they averaged an imposing 216.8 rushing yards in those games compared to only 216.8 in the others. As for Maloney, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-5.
