Baseball Recap: Twinsburg Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Twinsburg won the last time they faced Solon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Comets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Twinsburg got a great performance from Owen Shinada as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Shinada has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Twinsburg let JD Okuma and Jason Cox run wild. Okuma went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Cox got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Cox has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was William Bamler, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.

Twinsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Twinsburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Solon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Twinsburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Comets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
