Baseball Recap: Liberty Triumphs

While Liberty's win against Minarets wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 9-8. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Justin Coleman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Groh, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Minarets, they moved to 16-7-1 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Liberty will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
