Baseball Recap: Brooke's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

There's no place like home for Brooke, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Marion Huskies on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bruins as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Henry Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has become a key player for Brooke: the team is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Ty Sperringer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Brooke's win bumped their record up to 16-13. As for North Marion, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-11.

North Marion has already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against East Fairmont on the 14th. Hopefully Brooke paid attention to the Huskies' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
