Volleyball Recap: Niwot Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Legacy

Niwot faced Legacy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Lightning, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since May 3, 2024.

Niwot was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-22, 25-21.

Among those leading the charge was Elisha Thao, who had 13 digs and one assist. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Niwot's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8. As for Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.

Niwot wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Fossil Ridge on the 24th. As for Legacy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Arvada West on the 24th.
