Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Has No Trouble Against West Port

Santa Fe's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the West Port Wolf Pack with a sharp 12-4 win. The Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Zach Marriott looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Santa Fe got a massive performance out of Jackson McDavid, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was McDavid's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Doria, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Santa Fe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Santa Fe's record is now 2-3. As for West Port, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

When Santa Fe and West Port next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Santa Fe will face off against Buchholz and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, West Port will try to stop Vanguard's four-game winning streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
