Football Game Preview: Troy Flying Horses vs. Niskayuna Silver Warriors

The Troy Flying Horses will take on the Niskayuna Silver Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Troy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Troy hadn't beaten Columbia on the road since October 10, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Flying Horses walked away with a 27-14 victory over the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Niskayuna). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-7 win over Bethlehem Central. Given the Silver Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Eagles are ranked 323rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Niskayuna's win came from a few key players Troy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cameron Grasso, who picked up 137 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 38 yards and one TD. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 59 yards. Chase Meisner was another key player, rushing for 124 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Niskayuna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 347 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Troy's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Niskayuna, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-1.
