Softball Recap: Jefferson Forest Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Jefferson Forest had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Liberty Christian on Tuesday. The Cavaliers never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cavaliers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Ashleigh Johnson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Mati Gouldthorpe was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Jefferson Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.

The victory (which was Jefferson Forest's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Liberty Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
