Volleyball Recap: Centennial Baptist Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Centennial Baptist was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Star Huskies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Centennial Baptist took North Star into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-19, 20-25, 23-25, 15-9.

Despite the defeat, Centennial Baptist saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Leilani Malepeai had nine kills, five aces, three digs, and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Katie Oostra, who had seven kills, three digs, three blocks, and two aces.

Centennial Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for North Star, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-12 record this season.
