Basketball Recap: Waverly-Shell Rock Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Waverly-Shell Rock). They blew past the Jefferson Hawks 68-45 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Go-Hawks have posted since February 19th.

Waverly-Shell Rock's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Jefferson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Waverly-Shell Rock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-50 victory against North Polk on the 19th. Jefferson and Kennedy will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Jefferson likes a good challenge.
