Softball Recap: Inspiration Academy's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It was a proper cat-fight when Inspiration Academy challenged McKeel Academy on Friday. The Inspiration Academy Lions came out on top against the McKeel Academy Wildcats by a score of 6-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won three games in a row.

Emma Szabo was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Szabo wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Elle Hildreth, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Hildreth has posted since back in February. Avery Bouquin was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Inspiration Academy's record is now 9-4. As for McKeel Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Inspiration Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Lake Region on the 15th. As for McKeel Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-2 defeat against Lake Wales on the 14th.
