Peabody had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Union City Golden Tornadoes on Friday. Even though the Golden Tide got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Braxton Trimmer was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Jovan Torres and Chance Combs scored all three of Peabody's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

This is the second loss in a row for Union City and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Peabody didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-2 draw against Dyer County on the 10th. As for Union City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 4-1 defeat against Obion County on the 11th.
