Paraclete dropped down to 6-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against  the Cathedral Phantoms, falling  49-28. If the Spirits were looking for revenge after losing  41-30 to the Phantoms when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Despite the loss, Paraclete still got an impressive performance from   Joseph Mesa, who threw for 301 yards and four  touchdowns, and also rushed for 67 yards. Mesa has been hot recently, having  posted four or more  passing touchdowns the last three times he's  played.
As for Cathedral, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4. The result was nothing new for the Phantoms, who have now won four contests by 21  points or more  so far this season.
 It was another big night for  Jaden Jefferson, who threw for 378 yards and four  TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 71 yards and one  score on only eight carries.  Quentin Hale was  Jefferson's top target, picking up 121 receiving yards and a pair of  touchdowns.
 Paraclete wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  a  42-35  win against St. Francis on the 24th. As for Cathedral, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  28-14  victory against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy on the 24th.
