Basketball Recap: Kayden Brinson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dover over Highland

After flying high against Rondout Valley back in December of 2024, Dover came back down to earth. The Dover Dragons received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 68-53 to the Highland Huskies. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayden Brinson, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Brinson also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caden Green, who posted six points and ten assists.

Dover suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Highland, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dover will take on Ellenville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Highland, they will square off against Onteora at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
