Baseball Recap: Colonie Central Comes Up Short

Colonie Central had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 12-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Guilderland Flyin Dutchman by a score of 5-4. The Wolfpack were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Flyin Dutchman earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Brady Juliano made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run. Robert Frey was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Guilderland, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-12 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Colonie Central since May 19, 2021.

On Guilderland's side, Ryan Conklin made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Conklin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other pitching news, Andrei Flynn looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

Conklin wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jake Pensabene, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
