Baseball Recap: Kenton Takes a Loss

Kenton had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it ten. They lost 11-3 to the Defiance Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 12-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Defiance, the win keeps they at an undefeated 9-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.7 runs this season.

For Defiance's part, the team relied heavily on Brady Borton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Borton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Shaw, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenton will challenge Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Commodores' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Defiance, they will take on Wapakoneta at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.2, the Redskins 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
