Basketball Recap: Portsmouth West Comes Up Short

Portsmouth West lost against Minford back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Portsmouth West Senators came up short against the Minford Falcons, falling 63-40. While losing is never fun, the Senators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Falcons are ranked 15th).

Portsmouth West has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Minford, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.

While Portsmouth West had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
