Preview: Chesterfield Golden Rams vs. Buford Yellowjackets
The Chesterfield Golden Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Buford Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chesterfield has four straight wins, Buford has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Chesterfield gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They blew past North Central 51-14 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Chesterfield has posted since November 28, 2023.
Terrahjah Robinson and Kierra Diggs were among the main playmakers for Chesterfield as the former scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals and the latter scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Diggs is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Trinity Turnage was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Buford suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 47-20 loss at the hands of York Prep.
Chesterfield has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Buford, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Everything came up roses for Chesterfield against Buford in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 47-20 win. With Chesterfield ahead 30-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
