Basketball Game Preview: Thornridge Falcons vs. Bloom Blazing Trojan

Thornridge hasn't had much luck against Bloom recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Thornridge Falcons will square off against the Bloom Blazing Trojan at 6:00 p.m.

Thornridge is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since January 29, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 79-25 loss at the hands of Rich Township. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-13.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bloom). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Corliss 91-32. The Blazing Trojan have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Thornridge better keep an eye on Joe Jones. He was instrumental in Bloom's win, putting up four points. What's more, Jones also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Thornridge is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11. As for Bloom, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Thornridge was taken down by Bloom 82-35 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Thornridge was down 53-16.
