Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Comets vs. Clinton Prairie Gophers

The Eastern Comets will head out to face off against the Clinton Prairie Gophers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Eastern is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Northwestern just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 11-4.

Meanwhile, Clinton Prairie waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory.

Clinton Prairie saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kye Jacobs, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Clinton Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

Eastern got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Clinton Prairie by a conclusive 12-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
