Basketball Recap: Lakota West Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Lakota West won the last time they faced Sycamore and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lakota West Firebirds came out on top against the Sycamore Aviators by a score of 60-52. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.

Kenadie Benjamin and Emma Christerson certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Benjamin went 7 of 10 on her way to 17 points and seven assists, while Christerson went 6 for 10 en route to 17 points and five boards. Christerson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in the last four games she's played.

Lakota West's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Sycamore, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-10 record.

Lakota West will head out on the road to square off against Mason at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Mason will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Lakota West surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sycamore, they will host Oak Hills at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Sycamore is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
