Basketball Recap: Bagdad Takes a Loss

Bagdad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Salome Frogs, falling 52-12. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sultans of the 46-17 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Brianna Thomas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Salome, almost dropping a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Thomas a new career-high in points. Grecia Leon was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Bagdad's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Salome, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7.

Bagdad wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 37-29 win against Antelope on the 16th. As for Salome, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-14 victory against Anthem Prep on the 16th.
