Baseball Recap: Meigs Comes Up Short

Meigs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wellston Golden Rockets. If the Marauders were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Golden Rockets when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Meigs' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Wellston, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meigs will square off against River Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wellston, they will challenge Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Oaks have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
