Baseball Recap: York Has No Trouble Against Richland Northeast

While York put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Richland Northeast. York blew past Richland Northeast 11-0. The Cougars not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 28th.

Larson Montgomery made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because York is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise. Montgomery was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Lem Moss was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Zack Whiteside also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

York kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

York now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Richland Northeast, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

York will have a chance to go back-to-back against Richland Northeast: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
