Basketball Recap: Amelia Arsenault's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tuscaloosa Home Educators over East Central Homeschool

Tuscaloosa Home Educators has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 64-43 to the East Central HomeSchool Patriots on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since February 16th.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amelia Arsenault, who posted 16 points. Layken Horton was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten rebounds and five steals.

East Central HomeSchool was led to victory by Micah Coalson and Emma Nelson. Coalson dropped a triple-double on 22 points, ten boards, and 11 assists, while Nelson went 10 of 15 on her way to 25 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. The game was Coalson's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Emily Rea, who put up six points and eight rebounds.

Tuscaloosa Home Educators' defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for East Central HomeSchool, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Tuscaloosa Home Educators will host Starkville Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th. As for East Central HomeSchool, they will venture away from home to take on Bessemer Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
