Football Recap: Neumann's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Neumann dropped down to 4-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Community School of Naples Seahawks by a score of 38-35. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (31), the Celtics still had to take the loss.

Loss or not, Neumann got some senior leadership from Jayden Petit and Peyton Frontino. Petit picked up 301 receiving yards and three TDs, while Frontino threw for 345 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.4 yards per attempt. Those 345 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Frontino.

As for Community School of Naples, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. 38 seems to be a good number for them as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Jayvian Tanelus continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 210 yards and three scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Tanelus is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 110 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Phillips, who rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

Coming up, Neumann will head out to square off against Carrollwood Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,130 yards in their previous games. As for Community School of Naples, they will welcome Zephyrhills Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Seahawks will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
