It was a Battle of the Birds when St. Paul Catholic duked it out with Wolcott on Thursday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 19-3 win. Considering the Falcons have won 12 matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Breyona Demora made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, St. Paul Catholic got a massive performance out of Taylor Williams, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Paul Catholic will welcome Oxford at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wolcott, they will host Woodland Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
