Baseball Recap: Bluffton Wins Going Away Against Southern Wells

Bluffton had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Southern Wells on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Raiders. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Griffin Morgan made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Chanley Shaw was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Trevor Smith was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Bluffton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern Wells only managed one hit.

Bluffton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Southern Wells, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
