Softball Recap: Creek Wood Victorious

Creek Wood owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Montgomery Central Indians by a score of 5-0. The Red Hawks haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Elizabeth Martin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over seven innings pitched. Martin was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Jaycee Dillehay and Lilly Killebrew did most of the damage at the plate: Dillehay scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Killebrew scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Killebrew has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kloee Brewer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Creek Wood hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive matchups.

Creek Wood's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Montgomery Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Creek Wood will head out to challenge Dickson County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Montgomery Central, they will venture away from home to square off against Jo Byrns at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
