Basketball Game Preview: Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers vs. Loving Falcons

The Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers will head out on the road to take on the Loving Falcons at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mesilla Valley Christian School will be strutting in after a victory while Loving will be coming in after a loss.

Mesilla Valley Christian School will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Lordsburg, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Mesilla Valley Christian School snuck past Lordsburg with a 43-37 win on Thursday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mesilla Valley Christian School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avalyn Dwyer, who posted 17 points and five rebounds. Those 17 points gave Dwyer a new career-high. Nevaeh Benjamin was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 16 boards.

Meanwhile, Loving took a blow against Texico on Thursday, falling 70-27. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mesilla Valley Christian School's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.9 points over those games. As for Loving, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
