Greenville came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 49-7 win over the Mercer Mustangs. With the Trojans ahead 43-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Greenville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaysom Materia, who rushed for 87 yards and two scores. Materia was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Another passer making a difference was Cael Thurber, who threw for 161 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 passes.
