Softball Recap: Sturgis East Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Sturgis East dropped their record down to 6-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Monomoy Sharks, falling 16-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 30-6 back in April.

As for Monomoy, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 15.9 runs this season.

For Monomoy's part, Willa Leighton was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alana Lojko, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Sturgis East will take on Barnstable at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monomoy, they will head out to face off against St. Mary's at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
