Softball Recap: Chewelah Takes a Loss

Chewelah lost against Davenport back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars came up short against the Gorillas, falling 21-11. The Cougars' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Nicole Turner and Bindi Bennett stepped up to the plate in a big way. Turner went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles, while Bennett scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Charlie Fuller was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Chewelah's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Davenport, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

While Chewelah had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
